Ben joined the Garretson Firm Resolution Group (GFRG) in May 2010.  In his role with the State Operations, he maintains relationships with the State Medicaid Agencies through regular communication to efficiently resolve medical liens of claimants of mass tort litigations.  The role requires understanding and conveyance of claims audit standards and settlement protocols with Medicaid Agencies to achieve an amenable reimbursement.  As an attorney, Ben monitors statutes and case law applicable to third party liability and Medicaid recovery, and also, provides internal legal guidance on issues encountered by the State Operations group.   

Prior to joining GFRG, Ben was employed as a contract attorney with a national consulting firm where he performed digital document review and discovery for corporate entities facing governmental investigation or class action lawsuit.  Ben has held previous internships in the real estate arena performing property management and development functions. Most recently, he interned for a law practice where he participated in real estate consultations and transaction closings. 

Ben received a BA in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his JD from the Salmon P. Chase College of Law.  He is licensed to practice law in North Carolina, and soon to be licensed in South Carolina after successful completion of the February 2010 bar exam.  He is a member of the Mecklenburg County Bar Association, North Carolina Bar Association, and American Bar Association.
