Kristen Marino joined the Garretson Firm Resolution Group (GFRG) in May 2010 as the Mass Tort Agency Coordinator.  In her role as Mass Tort Agency Coordinator, Kristen is primarily responsible for maintaining relationships with government agencies for the purposes of health care compliance programs in mass tort settlements /claim resolution as well as other services provided by GFRG.  Kristen communicates predominately with The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).  This year, Kristen will also focus on MMSEA compliance issues and reporting obligations pertaining to mass tort settlements.

Prior to joining GFRG, Kristen worked extensively in the legal field.  While in law school, Kristen worked for a well-known medical malpractice, personal injury and product liability law firm in Cleveland, Ohio.  In addition, she interned as a Summer Associate in the Trumbull County (Ohio) Probate Court as well as the Summit County (Ohio) Prosecutor’s Office.

Kristen earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and minor in Sociology (Pre-Law) from Miami University (OH) in May 2005.  While attending Miami University (OH), she was awarded the Parent’s Council Certificate of Merit for Service and Leadership in Campus Life and was also a Member and Logistics Head for the Harry T. Wilks Leadership Committee.  Kristen received her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Akron School of Law in January 2009.  She was sworn in as a licensed attorney in the State of Ohio in November 2009 and is a member of the American Bar Association and the Ohio State Bar Association.
